Today is another perfect day because I have decided that despite clouds and not everything working as I would like it would be perfect.  That determination changes everything.  In fact, this post is about that determination in reverse.

There are times when one thing or another can get me off my clear determination of the day.  Sometimes I just let it go and drift through the day being acted on by external stimuli rather than continually living out my determination of being in control and seeing today as my perfect day.

Today I had a time when I did drift along and after a while found myself internally in a state of disquiet.  I was accomplishing little and pulled in a negative direction away from my perfect day.  Understand that this was not because of anything which happened but because of determinations that I made not to be in control by being at peace.

I got to the point that I recognized what was happening to me.  At this point in the past I would have started to internally beat myself for not living my perfect day.  However, today something very interesting happened when I recognized the situation.  Instead of getting down on myself, I just allowed myself to have control again and effortlessly moved in a new direction.

Some times when I make a mistake I learn the most.  Some times when I go in the wrong direction, I discover the importance of the right direction.  Some times – all the times the wrong course can lead to the right one if I see where I am and just turn.

I did not expect to be inspired by not being inspired but in essence, that is exactly what happened and about which I write.  Inspiration can come in so many ways.  It can come in the reverse of the way you would expect.  If a mistake is made, inspiration is at hand.  If you have done something wrong, inspiration is around the corner, just a turn away.

I did allow myself to float this day into areas I did not recognize nor want to be in, yet that is not the end.  Recognition of the situation led to allowing me to take control and be at peace on this perfect day.

So what can be learned here?  First, we will make mistakes from time to time especially if we let ourselves float through life.  Second, once floating is discovered be kind to yourself as you change directions.  Third, allow yourself to have control and be at peace.  Fourth, regain your perfect day and recommit to seeing your life through that prism.  Fifth, be thankful for everything, even the float, in that it made clear you weren’t going in the right direction.

Everything in our lives can lead to inspiration if we will just see.  The blessings of The Lord be yours through this post today.
