Inspiration Through Healing

Two and a half days ago I injured my left calf with some sort of the tear in the muscle fiber. I blogged about that just a day ago. It was under the title inspiration of pain. Now I have a new topic on which I’m blogging. This one is more about inspiration through healing.

Much has transpired in this past two and half days. I have discovered that the attitude you hold in the midst of healing determines how fast healing takes place. I did use compression bandages, anti-inflammatories, and ice. One thing I did not do was to just lie down and do nothing. I stretched I breathed and I went about doing as much as I could do under the circumstances. In the midst of that I also focused in prayer to God Almighty for his healing.

Along with that I said good feelings of love towards my injured body part of my left calf. That may seem a little bit strange. However what do we often do we have an injury we often attack the part that has been injured we say things they are can’t believe that my right leg would go out on me I can’t believe this or that. We attack the actual injured part. Instead of doing that why not encourage the injured part? Why not come up and put your arm around, metaphorically speaking, the injured park? Why not let the injured part know it’s going to be okay and that the injury would heal and heal quickly? Why not?

It seems odd, but why not do it because it leads to healing faster. What you’re doing when you send love, affirmation or prayer towards an injured body part is you’re determining to pump helpful healing hormones into your system rather then to pump healing averse hormones into your system that is what you’re determining to do. For myself I’d rather be healed, I’d rather be whole, I’d rather be in good health at all times. So why not send good healing biochemicals to areas of my body that need to be healed? Why not? It is of such importance that we see how our own opinions and attitudes impact our healing environments in our bodies are souls and her spirits that’s what this blog is about today.

And only two and a half days I’ve gone from barely being able to scoot along to now being able to walk with no pain. What is it that made all the difference? There are numerous things that I’ve done as I said earlier. However, the most important thing is that I determined that I will heal and heal quickly. It’s frankly that simple.

I have determined to let go of fear. I determined to let go of anxiety. And I’ve determined to let go of anything else that might be of negative consequence in the midst of my healing. As I do that and I also practice good physical things such as stretching, such as icing, and taking anti-inflammatories when necessary my healing on my torn muscle has accelerated because I am no longer pumping negative hormones into my system.

I’m only putting positive ones in, healing ones into my system. I also am not carrying things that sap my energy. That is why I was able to walk my dog for over a mile and a half yesterday. Only the day before I could barely skitter around our house. I was going from wall-to-wall trying to lean on something as I made my way slowly, very very slowly, from one room to another. I tried desperately to find a flat surface on which to lean so that I could walk, barely.

You may remember the book many years ago by Norman Vincent Peale, The Power of Positive Thinking. It was and still is a bestseller. It tells us to focus our energies in a positive direction to have a good outlook and things will most naturally occur that we would like to have happened. Though he does not go in-depth about how to get rid of emotions that we don’t need. The positivity that he brings out is important.

Some people only look at the emotional things that we can let go of with a way in which we can overcome difficulties. However in regards to positive focus the person with a physical injury I believe will heal faster. I’m sensing that and seeing that in myself as my muscle heals quickly. Anyone who has an injury I would encourage to focus on something of beauty focus on something of goodness focus on what you can do for others.

Look at your own abilities and see the hope that is within. See the hope that God has placed into your heart into your life into your spirit. When you do this the healing of your body becomes not of primary importance. It becomes the thing that starts to naturally happen.

But that does not mean that if you were seriously ill you should just think positive thoughts. Go to the doctors and get the help that you need! However the positive outlook will help to link all of the healing modalities together in such a way that you will end up healing faster than you would have otherwise this is what I’ve learned as I’ve seen myself go from hurt to healed.
